Mr. Elias E. Acquah is a practicing Reliability Engineer at Petroleum Development Oman and an Asset Performance Advisor at Assured Reliability Technologies. He is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a CMRP proctor.  He specializes in Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, and Process Improvement

He has trained, coached and led Operational Reliability Excellence efforts for the Extractive and Manufacturing majors across North America, Africa and Middle East –including Shell Petroleum Development Corporation, Hess Petroleum and Nestle among others.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Acquah worked with Technology Transfer Services (TTS)-U.S.A as Director (Maintenance Reliability Consulting), Africa and Middle East region.  He also worked for Key Energy Services-U.S.A, one of the largest onshore drilling companies in North America as Process Reliability Engineer and with ConAgra foods and Performance Systems Manager.

Mr. Acquah holds Bsc Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration.

Samah holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety and a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry and is an Oil and Gas Certified Safety and Health Official. She has 7 years’ experience at Bahrain Petroleum Company (Refinery). This includes 2 years as Operational Excellence Management System Leader, involved in the implementation of the OEMS in BAPCO, 5 years as Occupational Hygienist covering all aspects of Occupational Hygiene as well as ergonomics. Samah is certified in asbestos fibre count and is Chairperson of the Company Ergonomics Committee. She is also experienced in industrial hygiene field investigation, worker exposure evaluation, and corrective response oversight as well as risk assessment development, and training. Samah has lectured at training sessions such as NEBOSH certificate, conferences and provided technical presentations in Bahrain and the regional area. In addition, she holds OHSAS 18001 Administration and is a qualified Lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001. Further to this, Samah was awarded by the National Safety Council at their Global Safety Awards in October 2011, as Rising Stars of Safety for recognized contributions to safety. Furthermore Samah is an active member of BAPCO Behavioural Based Safety Committee and was instrumental in re-launching BBS program in BAPCO.

Diego Alvarez is the Senior Reliability Engineer at Tatweer Petroleum, Bahrain. Diego holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Zulia (Venezuela), a Master Degree in Reliability from University Simon Bolivar (Venezuela), a Master Degree in Rotating Equipment from University Simon Bolivar (Venezuela), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Phoenix in the USA. Diego has more than 14 years of professional experience in the Oil and Gas sector, including offshore platforms, refineries and desert areas. His career has been focused on Reliability and Rotating Equipment, Machinery Health Surveillance (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Thermography, Operational Parameters monitoring), development and implementation of Total Reliability Programs, Machinery Performance Standards, Lubrication best practices, Life cycle cost optimization, development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators, Reliability-Availability and Maintainability analysis (RAM analysis), Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO), spare parts stock optimization and Operational Excellence implementation.

With a total of over 13 years in relevant industrial sectors, Shashwat Anand is a Reliability Engineer at EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international joint-venture in this industry. In his current role, his responsibilities include the reliability and availability of production units, as well as relevant packaging lines. Before joining EQUATE, Shashwat worked as Reliability & Maintenance SME in business intelligence at Rolta India Limited. Shashwat holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Management from the Indian School of Mines.

Hugo Levesque has been with Alba since April 2013.  Mr Levesque held the position of process control manager and then moved to operation excellence department in October 2014. Before joining  ALBA, Mr Levesque was working in Brazil at Aluminio Brasileiro ( Albras ) and Canada at Aluminerie Alouette having technical and operational managerial roles with main focus on improvements.

Mr Levesque holds a BSC in Engineering from Laval University, Canada. He is member of the Ordre des Ingenieurs du Quebec.

Jassim is a Mechanical Engineer with B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida (Gainesville-Florida) class of 1989 and M.Sc. degree in Project Management (Oil & Gas) from University of Liverpool – UK. He established his work career on the 11th August 1990 with Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC). Having undergone extensive training and development both in Bahrain as well as overseas, he held a number of senior positions in GPIC including Mechanical Supervisor, Turnarounds Area Leader and then promoted to Mechanical Superintendent in Maintenance Department. In 2010, he was promoted to Safety, Security, Health & Environment Manager.
Mr. Darwish, was involved in the Urea Project from 1996 to 1998. He was fulltime involved in the project during the Engineering, Construction and Commissioning stages. He was also selected as one of the core team members in the Carbon Dioxide Recovery Plant Project (CDR) in 2008/9. He is a member on Gulf Petrochemical and Chemical Association (GPCA) in Responsible Care Committee and Advocacy Committee; Arab Fertilizer Association (AFA) in HSE Committee; National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) and Chairman of ASIS Bahrain Chapter; OSAC, IOSH and member in National Safety Council (NSC) in Delegates Board Member, Partnership Committee member in the United States. Member in Society of Engineer (Bahrain)
He has been selected as a judge for Robert W. Campbell Award (USA), AFA HSE Award, and Green Leave Award. Mr. Darwish was also undergone an extensive program with the University of Virginia-Graduate School of Business Administration in 2004.

Hafedh has 20 years of experience in the downstream oil and gas business. He holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).  He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and also a Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MInstLM) UK.

His whole career has been spent with the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, working in the Company’s refinery.  He has held various roles and responsibilities in the Company within the process engineering and operations functions, including Manager Technical Services, and since 2012 he has held the position of General Manager Refining.

As General Manager Refining, he is a member of the Executive Management team at Bapco, and is responsible for the hydrocarbon supply chain at Bapco i.e. the receipt of crude oil through pipelines, storage and processing of the crude, refinery operations, blending and storage of products, and shipment of products through Bapco’s wharf.  Technical service support and Environment, Fire, Health and Safety functions for the business also fall under his umbrella of responsibility.

Hafedh is the author and co-author of several technical papers published in industry journals, and he has also presented and chaired sessions at many national, regional and international conferences.

Bassam A. Al-Bokhari was appointed by Petro Rabigh Board of Directors as Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Affairs on December 1, 2012. In 2013, he assumed the position of Vice President, Industrial Relations, which comprises Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, Operational Excellence, Community & Business Support Services, Materials Procurement and Investors Relations. He is a Member of the Company’s Management Committee and Leader of the Company’s Transformation Roadmap Toward Performance Excellence. Bassam chairs several committees and is a Board Member of the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic and the Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies. He was also elected Chairman of Rabigh Corporate Social Responsibility Council, which includes prominent companies in Rabigh area.

Bassam joined Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura Refinery in 1989 as a System Engineer and held several positions including Planning Division Head, Admin Area Training Division Head, Assistant to Refining Vice President and Refining HR Consultant. In 2007 he joined the Ras Tanura Integrated Project in Houston, TX, as Organization & Strategy Manager to form Sadara Chemical Co, a Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical Joint Venture. From 2011 to 2012 Bassam assumed the position of Human Capital Development Department Manager with Sadara.

Bassam holds a Bachelor Degree in Management Information Systems and a Master Degree in Business Administration. He completed the Saudi Aramco Management Development Program in Washington, D.C. and is certified by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).
